Relatives in Thiruvananthapuram celebrated after 45-year-old Indian-origin candidate Nithya Raman won the Los Angeles mayoral election. Raman, a member of the Los Angeles City Council representing District 4, defeated 73-year-old incumbent Karen Bass in the November 3 vote.
