On 14 October, Kolkata hosted a World Standards Day awareness event organised by the Bureau of Indian Standards. School students showcased non‑conventional energy use and production models. Chief guests included Commerce Minister Tapas Roy, Dr. Meenakshi Ganesan and Prof. SP Gan Chowdhury.
