An analysis uncovered fraudulent ‘paper mill’ activity in more than 4,000 cancer research papers. The suspect articles were concentrated in a few journals, notably the Journal of Experimental and Clinical Cancer Research and Molecular Cancer, while other journals were only slightly affected.
